General
Preparation Instructions:
Barium Enema
Please contact Marietta Imaging Center to arrange for
pick up of your preparation kit.
Other Barium Studies (Upper GI Series, Barium Swallow,
Small Bowel Series)
Please do not eat or drink anything after midnight the
evening before your study.
IVP
Please contact Marietta Imaging Center at 770-792-1234 to
arrange for pick up of your preparation kit. Ultrasound
Exams of the Abdomen, Kidneys, Gallbladder, or Aorta. Please
do not eat or drink anything after midnight the evening
before your study.
Pelvic
Ultrasound
Please drink 40 ounces of water, starting 1 1⁄2
hours before your exam and finishing the 40 ounces within
45 minutes. DO NOT URINATE.
CT Scans
- (With IV Contrast)
Please do not eat or drink anything after midnight the
evening before the study, or 3 - 4 hours prior to the
study for afternoon appointments.
CT Scans
- (Abdomen / Pelvis, With or Without IV Contrast)
Please arrange to pick up 3 bottles of Oral Contrast from
our center or your physician's office. Instructions will
accompany contrast.
Mammograms
Please refrain from wearing any deodorant or talc under
arms or around breasts.
MRI
Scans
MRI Scans are generally not performed on patients with
cardiac pacemakers or brain aneurysm clips. You will be
asked to fill out a questionaire before your study. |
